Cormac Myles (he/him) is an award-winning interdisciplinary director, playwright, and artist based in Glasgow, specialising in contemporary theatre and new writing. His work is rooted in social and community contexts, engaging with the political landscape of the UK and beyond. He has also worked professionally as an actor, vocalist and dancer.

A common theme in his work is the relationship between humans and animals. His work often explores what makes real life, everyday people tick. What pushes them over the edge, or what holds them back when they teeter too close. Cormac’s work often uses comedy a lure.

Credits include Beauty and The Beast (Citizens Theatre);Strangers In The Night (A Play, A Pie, A Pint); Wasps (A Play, A Pie, A Pint, Traverse Theatre); Loud & Proud (Pitlochry Festival Theatre, Prime Theatre); Common Is As Common Does: A Memoir (Johnstone Town Hall, Zoo Southside, Made In Scotland Award); The Ballad of Sonia The Skunk (Airdrie Arts Centre); Under The Skin (Glasgow Acting Academy, Point5); 12 Pirates Battle It Out…For a Chippy! (Airdrie Arts Centre, ITPA); Alice By Heart (Impact Arts); The Caravel (Argyll Arcade, Space 45). His newest work SEMI-SKIMMED will premiere at the Airdrie Arts Centre in April, and will under go development in February 2026.

Cormac is also the Artistic Director of BLACKWIRE, an emerging theatre company based in Glasgow. BLACKWIRE produce urgent and unapologetic work in a variety of contexts.

Cormac is currently under commission to a multi-award winning theatre company for a piece of work debuting in 2026/27

  • Currently writing the book for a new Scottish Musical entitled ‘No Place Like Here’. With Song and Lyrics by Evan Elliott, and co-conceived by Rebecca Conway, Kady Smith, Niamh Watt.

  • Writing under commission for an award winning theatre company for work premiering in 26/27.

  • In the process of creating a book of original Scottish poetry, exploring Queerness and Identity.
