BURY THE SOFT THINGS

IN DEVELOPMENT - SYT Trajectories Programme 2026

A young boy witnesses a homophobic attack in a small Scottish town and decides here is no longer safe. But as he attempts to run away, he begins to uncover the dark history of where he is from, and who, or what, might be responsible.

Bury The Soft Things is an intense and physical exploration of belonging in rural working-class Scotland. It questions what people are willing to sacrifice to feel safety and belonging and if we are strong enough to fight back.
